Run to the Sea

From Ringwood to Bournemouth, following the Castleman Trailway for part of the way and along the stunning seafront into Bournemouth. A truly fantastic route, this 50km point-to-point course takes you through a variety of terrain, including wonderful forest trails and coastal paths.
With a flat, beautifully scenic course you can use this as a perfect intro to ultra-running, an opportunity to challenge yourself to a fast 50km run time, or simply just enjoy an amazing run to the sea!

0 – 9.5km
From the start at Bickerley Common the route follows the Castleman Trailway through beautiful forestry and is flat all the way to Checkpoint 1
9.5km – 19km
You’ll continue through the lush woodlands of Uddens Plantation before riverside trails take you to Canford Magna and a short section of pavement uphill to Checkpoint 2
19km – 32.5km
The Castleman Trailway continues to 26km where you enter Upton Country Park and join a trail around Holes Bay all the way into Poole town centre. There are some undulations underfoot in this section, but all firm terrain underfoot to reach Checkpoint 3
32.5km – 41.5km
You shortly reach Poole Harbour with views to Brownsea Island, with a pavement section taking you to the watersports haven of Shore Rd and stunning views across to Sandbanks. At 38km you join the seafront promenade and it’s flat now all the way until Checkpoint 4 at Durley Chine
41.5km – 50km
With the golden sandy beach on your right hand side now until the finish, you’ll pass plenty of beach huts, Bournemouth Pier and Boscombe Pier before the finish near Hengistbury Head

Team entry (optional): each runner enters individually, giving the team or club name. We award a prize to the first team or club with 5 runners over the line. You do not have to run together. You must enter your team name either at registration, or via your entry confirmation link up until 21 days before race day. We cannot add a team name to an entry after this point

squashable silicone cup to use at feed stations and finish (£3 during registration process) - we want to be as plastic-free as possible, therefore don't provide plastic cups. You can of course also use your water bottles!
